| i was at work 11 hours today. got to the office at 9am, left at 8pm.
the funny thing is, it didn't even feel like the long day that it was. i remember a year ago when i was working for a designer downtown, how an 11 hour day there felt like a 24 hour day.
line adoption is tomorrow. we're showing our fall 09 line to the buyers / sales / everyone tomorrow. its been a lot of work this work getting our shit together for the meeting, but its been fun at the same time.
i honestly enjoy my job, my coworkers are super fun, i am really lucky.
the new fall line looks really good. womens is showing some really fun stuff. they named a pant the "josephine" fit, but it became a copyright issue (It! Jeans already has a Josephine fit) so they made it ethnic and its called the "Josefina." its a slouchy straight. its awesome.
scarlett johansson is really nice because our PR dept. sent her some of our jeans and she wrote this handwritten card back thanking us and saying really nice things about 7FAM.
they did an informal (but semi-professional) photoshoot right next to my work desk today... after the models left my co workers let me play and we did a little photo shoot as well. super fun times. like my own personal PYT booth!
the rest of 2008 should be pretty bomb, i'm looking forward to it.

| whoa no updates!
no one xangas anymore anyways. xanga for myself.
i was walking to my car after dinner tonight (which was with my boss and some coworkers, at one of my favorite restaurants in Pasadena) feeling really good, like just feeling good...and alive...and fresh. i haven't felt this way in a while. just mad love all around.
long story short - moved up at work! i haven't hit my 1 year mark working at 7FAM yet - it will be 1 year this December and i'm excited about having gotten the position i gave myself 1-2 years to obtain.
had you seen me in my "interview" you would have seen me sell myself hard. along with giving a riveting trend forecast and merchandising strategy.
sooooo i am now the design assistant for the kids denim line /as well as/ the merchandiser for the kids denim line. holler.
i'm doing almost exactly what i want to be doing in the long run.
learning is the best part.

| you know, distance doesn't always make the heart grow fonder. sometimes it just exposes the relationship for what it is(was). whatever.
all i talk about anymore is work and shit like that. i bet you all are pretty sick of it. i spend 40+ hours a week at work, what do you expect? fuck my social life, all i care about is making money these days. i'm getting pressure from my parents to save up money so that i can buy my own apartment or condo. obviously, they'll help me out, but i still have to come up with a share. this was not part of my plan. i don't want to have to be responsible money-wise until i'm 24. i like that i can earn my money and fuck around with it and its all good as long as my rent/bills are paid. my dad doesn't know this, but that's pretty much what i'm still doing and its a good time. i'm getting better though, i actually have a lot more money than i need in my account - this is an improvement from a year ago when i would let my shit get down to like $10 and be like "cool."
in other news, check out this cake i made last friday for my boss' (pretend) birthday. it was delish. we did a surprise birthday for my boss because she is awesome. she won't tell anyone when her actual birthday is, so me and my coworkers decided to choose a fake birthday for her and we totally surprised her.
you know how subway has been doing that $5 footlong sub thing lately? i've been eating subway a lot because of that. great marketing strategy on their part.
